Harnessing AI To Give Every Voice a Safe Space
A patented AI-powered anti-bullying device, piloted with 250 underprivileged children in Delhi, now poised to help at-risk groups everywhere.
The Spark: From personal pain to purpose
Bullying leaves scars you can’t always see. I know first-hand how isolating bullying can feel. My own experiences and those of my classmates revealed a silent crisis - ‘children too afraid to speak up’. This inspired me to create a tool that lets people, child or adult, speak up anonymously and get help in time.
The Solution: An AI-powered anti-bullying device
SentiMeter.AI, is an antibullying and sentiment detection device for which I have received a design patent. It allows individuals to anonymously record complaints about bullying incidents or speak up about issues troubling them.
The device transcribes voice to text and conducts a sentiment analysis using NLP to identify indicators of stress. It then sends a mail transcript to identified, competent authorities. The notified authorities can take remedial action through appropriate intervention and thereby provide necessary support.

Pilot & Impact: Bringing it to at-risk children
To prove the concept, I deployed SentiMeter.AI across three NGOs serving underprivileged children in Delhi.
Over 250 students used the device, often speaking openly for the first time about bullying and distress. For many, the anonymous interaction felt cathartic and non-judgmental, revealing chronic abuse and a lack of clear pathways for help.
The data highlighted urgent counselling needs. I partnered with child psychologists to deliver anti-bullying talks and mental-health sessions, turning insights into immediate support.

Recognition & Next Steps
I hold a design patent for SentiMeter.AI. The device has already attracted interest from schools, elder-care facilities and mental-health professionals across India. Next, I plan to publish a white paper and lead advocacy forums so more communities can adopt it.
Building the Tech
To strengthen the device, I completed IBM certifications in AI Fundamentals, Cloud Computing, Data Fundamentals and Emerging Tech, and wrote a research paper on transformer-based sentiment models now under review.

Scaling STEM for Social Good
Any technological innovation that is geared towards social good has to be adaptive to ground realities. During my pilot of SentiMeter.AI in under-resourced schools, frequent power cuts inspired the development of an offline Lite version, making the technology accessible even in settings with limited power and internet connectivity. Leveraging AI sentiment analysis, I uncovered issues that would otherwise go unnoticed, highlighting the unique power of technology to illuminate hidden obstacles and needs efficiently at a large scale. Now, by collaborating with educators, psychologists, and social entrepreneurs, I am focused on expanding SentiMeter.AI’s reach among at-risk communities, ensuring that technology serves as a catalyst for protection, empowerment, and positive social change.
